FINALS SET FOR THE USTA/URSULA BECK PRO TENNIS
CLASSIC
DECATUR, IL – The men’s singles semifinals are complete and
the finals have been decided for the USTA/Ursula Beck Pro Tennis
Classic on Sunday, August 3 at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex.
A busy final day of tournament play awaits Tigran Martirosyan
(Armenia) as he will compete in both the men’s singles and men’s
doubles finals. Martirosyan and his partner Daniel Yoo (Korea)
received the No. 3 doubles seed and advanced to the finals
earlier this week where they will play against the Australian
team of Dane Fernandez and David Jeflea. Martirosyan advanced to
the singles final when he defeated Todd Paul (United States),
the No. 4 singles seed, 6-4 and 6-2. The No. 2 singles seed,
Raven Klaasen (South Africa), also advanced to the finals when
he defeated American Ryan Rowe 7-6(6) and 6-4.
The final day of tournament play will be a busy day with the
singles match beginning at Noon and the doubles match starting
after the completion of the singles match and a brief break.
During the break between the two matches Brian Earley, USTA
Director of Pro Circuits, will be on hand to make special
presentation commemorating the tournament’s 10th
year. At approximately 1 p.m. spectators will have a chance to
place bids in a live auction for two tickets to the President’s
Box at the U.S. Open on Thursday, August 28, starting bid is
$1,000.00. Don’t miss the exciting conclusion of the USTA/Ursula
