10th ANNUAL USTA/URSULA BECK PRO TENNIS CLASSIC

MEN’S DOUBLES FINAL SET
AT THE USTA/URSULA BECK PRO TENNIS CLASSIC

DECATUR, IL – The top men’s doubles finals is set while the men’s singles players prepare for the quarterfinals at the USTA/Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic. The No. 3 seeded men’s doubles team of Tigran Martirosyan (Armenia) and Daniel Yoo (Korea) defeated the No. 2 tournament seed, Yuichi Ito (Japan) and Raven Klaasen (South Africa), 3-6 and 6-1 [10-4] to advance to the finals. Martirosyan and Yoo will meet the Australian team of Dane Fernandez and David Jeflea in the doubles final on Sunday, August 3 at 1 p.m. Fernandez and Jeflea advanced to the finals when they defeated the United States team of Matthew Allare and Justin Kronauge 6-3 and 7-6.

Even with the lose in today’s doubles semifinals, Raven Klaasen was able to survive his men’s single match against Conor Pollock (United States) 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 and advanced to tomorrow’s quarterfinals. Klaasen, seeded No. 2, will meet Nicolas Santos (Brazil). The only other singles seeded player to advance to the quarterfinals was United States player Paul Todd, seeded No. 4. Todd defeated Jarmaine Jenkins (United States) 6-3, 6-3 and will play Thomas Liversage (South Africa) in the quarterfinals. Wildcard and University of Illinois player Roy Kalmaovich also advanced to the quarterfinals. The men’s singles quarterfinals will begin Friday (August 1) at 10 a.m. at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex.
